ULI, Housing Developer Get New Leaders

Rose has served in a host of positions at ULI, including past chair of the organization's commercial and retail development council and vice chair of its national program committee. He has chaired and served on numerous national ULI advisory service panel assignments focusing on downtown and transit corridor redevelopment and revitalization and office development issues and has participated in several ULI office sector workshops. At El Segundo-based Continental Development, he is responsible for managing all development, acquisition, construction and asset management activities for the suburban office/medical/R&D park developer, whose holdings cover nearly five million square feet in Los Angeles County South Bay and San Francisco markets.

At 1010 Development Corp., Buente steps into his new role from his previous post as managing partner of Trafford Associates LLC, a real estate development and consulting firm specializing in the acquisition and development of affordable multihousing properties throughout Southern California. Founded in 1991, 1010 Development is a designated Community Housing Development Organization focusing on the delivery of affordable housing to difficult-to-develop areas in the City of Los Angeles.

As managing partner at Trafford, Buente was responsible for securing debt and equity financing, low income housing tax credits, bonds and other government subsidies for its projects. He previously was an account executive with Fannie Mae, where he was instrumental in structuring credit enhancements for the City of Los Angeles' Earthquake Recovery Bond program, which provided funding for more than 1,000 multifamily units damaged or destroyed by the 1994 earthquake. He is a member of the Los Angeles District Council of the ULI, where he sits on the inner city and urban policy subcommittee and is co-chair of its Urban Marketplace 2010.
