Brad Peterson, managing director with HFF in Orlando, will work with senior managing directors Whitney Knoll in Atlanta and Doug Hazelbaker in Dallas to market the property on behalf of GE Capital Real Estate, which recently foreclosed on the site.

"The former Chevrolet dealership may present an opportunity for a new auto dealer or auto dealer with multiple dealerships to upgrade location and consolidate operations," Peterson says. "Also, because of its outstanding Interstate 4 highway frontage, it could be an excellent redevelopment site for an office, multifamily, retail or hotel project."

HFF declined to disclose the asking price for the former Bill Heard dealership in Sanford, which opened in 2001 and boasted annual sales volume of $145 million. Heard Enterprises blamed higher fuel prices and the lagging economy for its demise last September.

Bill Heard's only other Florida dealership, along I-4 in Plant City, was sold to Grapevine, TX-based Stingray Chevrolet LLC for $15 million in December. The dealership remains in operation today.
