Colleen McShane, group conference manager for the RealShare series of events, tells GlobeSt.com that the RealShare Orange County agenda this year "has been trimmed down to focus on the main topics that are of interest for Orange County." Distressed assets are expected to be a theme running throughout the conference, which will include a special presentation on marketing distressed properties.
McShane points out that with the changes in the market due to the recession, the sessions at this year's RealShare Orange County will focus on the best strategies for today's conditions. The office market panel, for example, will focus on asset management, property management and other related topics.
The conference will begin with registration and continental breakfast from 7:30 a.m to 8:30 a.m., when Daniel Ceniceros, vice president for strategic development at Incisive Media, will kick off the day's events with opening remarks. The first event will be an 8:35 a.m. Town Hall Meeting titled "The State of the Orange County Market and Outlook for 2010."
The Town Hall panel will be moderated by Jeff Moore, senior managing director at CB Richard Ellis. Panelists will include Brandon Birtcher, president and CEO ofBirtcher Development & Investments; Bill Halford, president and CEO of Bixby Land Co.; Guy Johnson, president of Johnson Capital; Tom Sherlock, senior managing director at Buchanan Street Partners and Martin Pupil, executive managing director of the Greater Los Angeles region for Colliers International.
Following a networking break, the office market panel will gather, with Jeff Ingham, executive vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, as moderator. Panelists will include John Combs, founder and principal of River Rock Real Estate Group Inc.; Jeff Manley, managing principal at CresaPartners; John Strockis, executive managing director at Voit Real Estate Services and managing director Cindy Burgerof CB Richard Ellis.
Following an 11 a.m. networking break, senior vice president Paul Lyons of BigBidder.com will deliver a presentation titled, "Stop the Insanity: Alternative Marketing Strategies for Distressed Assets." Lyons will be followed by the last session of the day, a panel on workouts and restructuring that will be titled, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly."
Gary Tenzer, a George Smith Partners senior director, principal and co-founder, will moderate the workouts panel. Panelists will include managing director Scott Bottles of Wells Fargo Bank, partner Jess Bressi of Luce Forward, regional manager Scott Lamontagne of Marcus & Millichap, partner Ellen Marshall of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips and managing partner Steve Huntley of Huntley, Mullaney, Spargo & Sullivan.
