GlobeSt.com previously reported on the construction of the $100 million R&D building. At the time, Governor Jennifer M. Granholm said, "GE's decision to invest and grow in Michigan demonstrates we have the high-tech workforce and competitive business climate necessary for global giants like GE to thrive in the 21st century."
The 200,000-square-foot office building is owned by Visteon Corp. GE signed a long-term lease with the landlord for the property, although the lease terms were not disclosed. Visteon, which has its corporate offices in the building, will remain on the site as well.
"A smart business initiative, a perfect location and access to a talented workforce have created a winning result for GE and Michigan," says Michael Gerard, senior managing director for CB Richard Ellis. "We are proud that CBRE's industry leading platform and professionals could make an important contribution to this historic effort."
CBRE's Brent Woodruff and Jeffrey Bell represented GE in the lease deal.
