FirstService has instant name recognition in Canada and other foreign markets, Hague says. It is only now, though, gaining traction in the US. The company has opened offices in New York and Boston and is now focusing its attention on the DC market. The new team will focus on corporate services and tenant representation initially, with plans to expand into investment sales and specialty representation including law and government services, Hague says.

Also on Hague's to do list: building out expertise in corporate finance, asset management services--including agency leasing and property management--and establish a presence in Northern Virginia, suburban Maryland and Baltimore. Other practice groups the firm wants to establish include in retail, office and industrial.
