Kaiser Permanente has been a tenant at Piedmont Center since 1993 and will continue to occupy the business park's Nine, Ten and Eleven buildings. The property is located on Piedmont Road near Georgia 400 and is owned by Glendale, CA-based American Realty Advisors.
"Piedmont Center continues to provide Kaiser Permanente with superb long-term value for its regional headquarters," William Propst, vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle's tenant representation group in Atlanta, stated in a release. Propst worked with colleagues David Demarest in Atlanta and Rita Robison in Washington, DC on behalf of Kaiser Permanente, while Lee Caswell of PC Management Co. represented the landlord.
Asking rents for class A office space in the Buckhead submarket were approximately $27 per square foot at midyear. The vacancy rate was 14%, well below the Atlanta metropolitan average of 20%, according to Jones Lang LaSalle research.
