"Samit's commitment to excellence and renowned leadership is a major asset to our team as we continue the firm's tradition of helping clients capitalize on opportunities in the global marketplace," says Vincent Lottefier, the head of Jones Lang LaSalle's International Desk.
The new appointment is part of JLL's plans to expand on a global scale. According to a company spokesperson, "We intend to expand our international business by leveraging Jones Lang LaSalle's global platform in 60 countries across the three major regions and client relationships therein."
Which companies JLL expands to or continues to build upon a current base will be largely in response to client demand. "Our focus through the International Desk is to make our international service delivery seamless across service lines and geographies," the spokesperson tells GlobeSt.com. "JLL's geographical expansion plans have always been guided by client needs and that philosophy will continue to guide future expansion into new markets."
Chopra will be based out of Palo Alto but will spend a significant amount of his time traveling the US and to oversea locations. With his headquarters in California, Chopra has expanded the International Desk across the country, from New York where the other employees are located, and now California.
Before taking on this position, Chopra oversaw corporate client development and account management functions for JLL in India. Prior to that, he managed JLL's transaction business for Mumbai and Pune, and before that he worked as a vice president in JLL's New York office.
