Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers already has a bench in place for tenant representation, Santry points out. "What I want to do is maximize its existing strengths to become a dominant player in this space within the next three years," he tells GlobeSt.com. To that end, he'll be looking to hire additional brokers over the mid-term.
Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers is not the only firm stretching into this area. Established brokers and start ups alike are eyeing the space, especially as the market continues to favor tenants.
Another example is FirstService REA, which just launched a DC office with several members of the former GVA Advantis team. The team, headed by Tim Hague, brought along several tenant clients--and plans to expand their capabilities in this space even further, according to Hague. The company wants to establish or recruit government services and law firm groups, among other growth plans.
