The first four years of Waterfront's occupancy at on the 16th floor at 345 Hudson will be a sublease from Wolters Kluwer subsidiary CT Corp., according to a release from Cushman & Wakefield. The remainder will be a direct lease from landlord Trinity Real Estate. Lease terms were not disclosed; comparable rents in Hudson Square range from the mid-to-high $50s per square foot.
Mitti Liebersohn, EVP at C&W, says in a release that the Hudson Square area offers "the ideal location for a modern, media-centric company like Waterfront Media." He adds that the floor plan at 345 Hudson is "highly conducive" to a creative environment, "and will go a long way in attracting talent to this growing company." The 345 Hudson space is about one-third larger than its Brooklyn location of 28,000 square feet.
Liebersohn and C&W associate Scott Silverstein represented Waterfront in its space search and negotiations with the sublandlord and landlord. CT was represented by Mark Friedman, executive managing director at FirstService Williams. Trinity Real Estate was represented in-house by Jason Pizer and Tom Lynch.
Waterfront Media operates the Everyday Health Network, which reportedly attracts more than 25 million unique users per month across 24 sites. The company was founded in 2002.
