The home furnishing distributor is leasing the space at 8210 Humble-Westfield Rd. to consolidate several temporary warehouse spaces. The company will move in during early 2010. Cory Driskill, senior leasing representative with Duke Realty Corp.'s Houston office handled the transaction for the REIT, while Furniture Brands used in-house representation.
Point North One was completed by Duke Realty's Houston office in May 2008. The building was the first phase of Point North Cargo Park, a 52-acre distribution center in the north submarket. David Hudson, senior vice president of leasing and development with Duke Realty's Houston office says the building was a few months behind scheduled lease-up, though the pro-forma is still on target. Point North One's first tenant, freight management company Geodis Wilson, signed a lease last March for approximately 62,000 square feet.
Hudson says no more speculative space is planned right now for development at Point North Cargo Park, though the remaining 42 acres is being marketed for sale. "If we had a definite commitment from a tenant, we'd think about building something, but construction is off the table there for the foreseeable future," he adds.
