"We're very pleased to have identified this opportunity to invest in an outstanding property with a world-class tenant committed to be here for the long term," says Bernard Penaud, managing director and head of Tishman Speyer's French operations.
The building is the headquarters facility for AXA Corporate Solutions, which will continue to occupy the entire building through a long-term lease. Reports have listed the lease as having a nine-year term. The company has occupied the building since it was built in 1910.
Tishman Speyer has been a market presence here for the past 15 years. With this purchase its portfolio now totals three million square feet.
"Tishman Speyer has become a major developer and investor in Europe through careful selection of the best opportunities on behalf of our clients," says Tishman Speyer president and Co-CEO Rob Speyer, in a release. "Our objective is to develop and acquire world-class properties in world-class cities, providing top-quality office environments and residences in those markets. The acquisition announced today is consistent with that objective."
