Whole Foods Market is working on a new plan for the building exterior that will complement the overall architecture of Bella Terra, the companies say. The market is also redesigning the interior space for its new location, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.

In addition to the grocery store, the new Whole Foods location will feature indoor and outdoor seating where customers can relax and enjoy salads, sandwiches, hot prepared foods, cold drinks and coffee. Patrick Bradley, president of the Southern Pacific Region for Whole Foods Market, says that the chain chose Bella Terra for its easy access and visibility, among other factors. Lindsay Parton, president of DJM Development, calls the market "an ideal fit with our existing array of retail, restaurants and entertainment options."

Bella Terra's 800,000-square-foot retail center is set on 44 acres with more than 70 shops and restaurants. It is a central component of the larger 70-acre Bella Terra mixed-use, urban lifestyle district assembled by DJM Capital Partners. The district includes a neighboring 428,244-square-foot office complex that the company acquired and has repositioned as the Towers at Bella Terra and the planned development of The Village at Bella Terra.
