The 729,638-square-foot building is owned by Des Moines, IA-based Principal Real Estate Investors and managed by NorthMarq. The building was built in 1985.

"NorthMarq's commitment to sustainable practices is evident in our 38 LEED accredited property managers, who've worked with investors around the country to achieve LEED designations for 3 million sq. ft. of office and industrial buildings," says EVP Lisa Dongoske. "Those facilities are at the forefront of implementing initiatives that reduce waste, lower water consumption, improve energy efficiency and support our tenants' desire to work in healthier environments."

To gain the Gold certification, NorthMarq oversaw a number of property improvements. The total dollar amount that was put into greening the building was not released.

The amount of water used in plumbing fixtures was reduced by 55%, a move that saves up to 2.3 million gallons of water yearly. With tenants, more than 80% of purchases of electronic durable goods either Energy Star labeled products or electonic product environmental assessment tool rated.

Additionally, tenants reduced conventional commute trips by 25%, and mercury in lamps was reduced by 72%.
