Other lease signings at 1909 K St.--also known as the Millennium Building--include Airbus Americas, which has renewed its five-year, 4,580-square-foot-lease. Terry Amling from Jones Lang LaSalle was the broker for the tenant. Also Alcoa renewed its five-year, 2,980-square-foot lease. Malcolm Marshall from Cushman & Wakefield and Chris Robinson from Fisher Corporate RE Services represented the tenant. Randy Harrell, Kevin Howard and Scott Frankel from CB Richard Ellis, represented the owners on all three deals.

Slowly Tower Cos. is filling the 100,000-square-foot hole left by Mayer Brown, which recently moved to 1999 K. The law firm signed a lease for that building, then under construction, some two years ago. The building's occupancy level fell to 50% when it left, Eric Posner with the Tower Cos. tells GlobeSt.com.

Asking rates for the building, which was extensively rehabbed to include three new stories, are in the low- to mid-60s per square foot, he says. Interest in the space is picking up. Like most brokers, Posner reports an increase in tours and activity since the end of the summer, particularly for CBD office buildings.
