Mike Silliman, vice president-leasing for Solana owner and developer Maguire Partners tells GlobeSt.com that Pfizer had looked around at other options before renewing in the building located just off Kirkwood Boulevard. He adds that inquiries for office space picked up after the first of the year, and there will soon be another lease deal negotiated for space at another office building, 3 Campus Circle.
"I think the increase in interest is probably a function of an economy that's hopefully starting to recover," Silliman comments. "Decisions were put off last year, and now are being made in the first quarter."
The Pfizer lease means Solana, as a whole, is 85% leased. Approximately 25,000 square feet remains at 7 Village Circle. Kelley Kackley and Doug Carignan of Jones Lang LaSalle represented Pfizer. The Westlake, TX-based Maguire Partners was represented in-house by Silliman.
Solana, located northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, has 14 class-A office buildings, a data center, hotel, retail and restaurants. The entire project has 2.5 million square feet of office space to date, with 440 acres available for development.
