Morgan Stanley bought the assets through its real estate division in 2007 for $2.4 billion from All Nippon Airways. Called ANA, the portfolio is made up of InterContinental Hotels, the largest being the InterContinental Tokyo. All Nippon and InterContinental currently manage the assets, and one of Morgan Stanley's lenders, Government of Singapore Investment Corp., a sovereign wealth fund, is interested in taking over the hotels.
