Having serviced local customers from its Linden, NJ facility since 2002, Aggreko will be able to provide faster response for key industries on Long Island as well as in New York City, including healthcare, manufacturing, construction and events, says a release from Aggreko. The lease includes a renewal option for five more years, according to FSW.
"Aggreko is a prominent international utility specialist with expansion needs, and for some time has been seeking a strategic location in Nassau County," says FSW's Richard Warshauer in a release. "The problem was that the type of space Aggreko required—warehouse with about three times the amount of yard area—basically doesn't exist. We had to find a developer that had the resources and imagination to think past the obvious. The Steel Equities site was the perfect solution."
Warshauer, a senior managing director who had been part of the FSW team representing Cox and Co. in a 90,000-square-foot lease at the same Steel Equities business park, previously arranged temporary accommodations for Aggreko at a Steel facility in Bethpage when the company powered the US Open at Bethpage State Park last year. For longer-term space, Steel built a new addition to an existing industrial building in the Plainview business park. Aggreko recently set up shop at 115 Amfesco.
Founded in the Netherlands in 1962, Aggreko is currently based in Glasgow, Scotland, with US headquarters in Houston. It has more than 50 locations throughout North America, according to Aggreko.
