The article says the German retailer will open 11 stores in March, nine in April and seven more in May. The company already has a $50 million, 500,000-square-foot distribution center in Denton, TX, about 20 miles north of Dallas.
Aldi stores are different from the standard grocery store in that they have smaller footprints. The company bills itself as one offering select brands at prices 15% to 20% less than those at big-box discounters, the Dallas Business Journal article says.
