The hiring of McCullough strengthens the Grubb & Ellis private capital investment brokerage capabilities, according to Glen Esnard, president of the capital markets group. McCullough, who is based in the company's Newport Beach office, will be responsible for directing Grubb & Ellis' private capital investment brokerage business, including overseeing thecompany's 31 brokers in the private capital markets group. McCullough will also focus on recruiting top-producingbrokerage professionals in primary and secondary markets throughout the US.

[IMGCAP(2)]At CBRE, McCullough served private investors in the industrial, office and retail sectors. Before that, he was vice president at Citi Group, where he oversaw the company's REO activities in Southern California during the recession of 1991-1993. Earlier in his career, McCullough spent 12 years at a number of commercial real estate investment companies, including Birtcher Realty, Murdock Realty and Santa Anita Realty Corp, in leasing and asset management roles. He began his brokerage career in 1974 with CBRE.

Smith, in her new role, will oversee various functions withinthe facilities management division of the Grubb & Ellis corporate services business, including engineering services, client services, the company's national call center and financial reporting. In her previous position managing the company's relationship with Aetna, a post she held since 2006, she oversaw the facility operations for Aetna's 7.3-million-square-foot portfolio of facilities in the US, Europe and Asia. She also directed the project management team responsible for implementing Aetna's capital investment program, which included a major renovation of the company's corporate headquarters.

Before the Aetna post, Smith worked for eight years on theNortel account, where she was responsible for facility operations for the telecommunications provider's US and Latin American portfolio.
