Terms of the financing were not disclosed. The Trump International Hotel & Tower opened in 2008 and was reported at the time to be starting its room rates at $349 per night and running as high as $5,000 per night. The property, behind the former New Frontier site, joined the Trump International in New York City and Trump International in Chicago under the Trump International banner. The Las Vegas property features a host of amenities, including a spa, a fitness center, a salon and restaurants, an outdoor heated pool and sun deck and a business center.

The Trump International was one of a number of huge projects that were completed during the Las Vegas building boom, before the recession put the brakes on development and stopped some of projects in their tracks. Market watchers are still wondering what will happen with the partially completed multibillion-dollar Fontainebleau resort project, a 3,800-room hotel-casino that investor Carl Icahn gained control of from bankruptcy court for $150 million.

One of the last of the mega-projects to slip in under the wire and be completed was the $9-billion 63-acre CityCenter project, including the 4,004-room Aria Resort & Casino, which opened in December.
