Arauco already occupies almost 240,000 square feet in two other AMB industrial facilities in Mexico, including the AMB Fria Building 2 in Monterrey and the AMB Los Altos Building 1 in Guadalajara. Luis Gutierrez, AMB's managing director for Mexico, said in a statement that the tenant is moving to this new facility to increase efficiency and optimize local operations. The building is in the Pacifico industrial submarket, close to the Mexico 1 Transpeninsular Highway.
Almost 10 million square feet is included in AMB's Mexico portfolio. Much like the US, it's a tenant-run market in major Mexican cities, according to a recent Jones Lang LaSalle market report. The lease rate and term was unavailable for this story.
