SAN FRANCISCO-Locally based Nob Hill Properties has named Holliday Fenoglio Fowler to market three hotels for sale, two of them here and one in Carmel. The three properties are the Huntington Hotel and the Galleria Park in San Francisco, along with the La Playa Hotel and Cottages-by-the-Sea in Carmel.

HFF senior managing directors Michael Leggett and Gerry Rohm will lead the investment sales team on behalf of the seller. The hotels are being offered for sale as a portfolio and not on an individual basis.

Leggett describes the properties as “generational hotels that have not been available to investors for more than 50 years, with two of the three―the Huntington and La Playa―being unencumbered by management and flag." The Huntington Hotel, constructed in 1924, has been significantly renovated throughout the years and has never been offered for sale, Leggett notes. "The opportunity presents investors with a blank canvas for the launching or dramatic enhancement of a luxury brand," he says.

The Huntington Hotel, at 1075 California St. atop Nob Hill, is adjacent to Grace Cathedral, Huntington Park and the Pacific Union Club as well as other luxury hotels including the Fairmont, Mark Hopkins and the Ritz Carlton. The 12-story property, which is a short distance from the Financial District and San Francisco Bay Bridge, has 140 rooms, conference and meeting room facilities, the Big 4 Restaurant, and Nob Hill Spa.

Galleria Park is at 191 Sutter St., at the intersection of Sutter and Kearny, in the middle of Downtown San Francisco, blocks from Union Square and the Moscone Convention Center. The eight-floor, 177-room hotel includes conference and meeting rooms as well as the Midi Restaurant. It is operated by Joie de Vivre Hotels.

La Playa Hotel and Cottages-by-the-Sea, a boutique Mediterranean-style resort, is two blocks from Carmel Beach and Ocean Avenue in Carmel. The resort is also less than two miles from a number of notable golf courses including Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Cypress Point. La Playa has 75 rooms plus six stand-alone cottages, the Terrace Grill and five meeting rooms. The resort is unencumbered by management and any franchise affiliation.
