ALISO VIEJO, CA-“In terms willingness or desire to invest capital to take advantage of what is obviously a troubled real estate market, the appetites are great,” says James Watson, president and CEO of CT Realty Investors, who recently spoke with GlobeSt.com’s Bob Howard about the current investment climate. “That is true locally with private high net worth capital, that is true with institutional and it is true with investors outside the US,” he continues.

Watson pointed out that there are obvious difficulties and complexities in raising debt, and that the extraordinary amount of debt maturities that are rolling over or maturing add even more pressure to that valuation, adding that there aren’t many big transactions happening. “Everyone is trying to understand where values are going to stabilize and what can be done to try and increase income stream.”
