LOS ANGELES-“The industry has become global industry,” said Harvey Green, outgoing president and CEO of Marcus & Millichap, at a recent RealShare 2010 event when asked how the industry has changed over his career. “When I joined the industry, it was far more localized.” Technology, he said, has also had a huge impact on the industry in the way in which real estate operates and in the way it trades.
As for liquidity back in the marketplace, Green said that he really isn’t seeing things loosen up yet. “I think we all want that but I think there is a large amount of CMBS that needs to work its way through the marketplace.”
