MERRILLVILLE, IN-SJBZ Development has hired Chicago-based RMK Management Corp. to run the 300-unit Prairie Point Apartments here. The property is considered a luxury complex in the northern Indiana market.
Located at Cleveland Street and West 91st Drive, the complex offers one-bedroom to two-bedroom homes that range from 753 to 1,184 square feet. Each unit includes a private entrance, washer-dryer, private patio or balcony, walk-in closets, central air and optional attached garage. Rents range from $832 to $1,400 per month. There’s also a clubhouse, swimming pool, playground and business center.
Lex McCarthy with RMK said the property is about 92% occupied. “There seems to be some life coming back into the apartment industry, we’re seeing a boost in employment,” she tells GlobeSt.com. “We didn’t do concessions like in Chicago, but pricing has been an issue, we’ve reduced rents on individual units we were trying to lease. We hope to increase rents 2% to 4% next year.”
