JENKINS TWP., PA-Corning Life Sciences, a developer, manufacturer and distributor of laboratory products leased 396,800 square feet from Mericle Commercial Real Estate Services here in its CenterPoint Commerce & Trade Park. The building was constructed on spec last year and can increase to 620,000 square feet, if needed.
So far, Wilkes-Barre, PA-based Mericle has constructed about 5.3 million square feet at CenterPoint. Other tenants include the Home Depot, Lowe’s, Boden and Bimbo Bakeries. The Corning building is part of the development's second phase.
In other CenterPoint news, British clothing company Boden will expand its 62,000-square-foot facility in the park by 74,400 square feet, an undertaking that is set for completion by the end of the year.
Mericle also recently received LEED certification for new contruction from the United States Green Building Council for a 744,080-square-foot building in CenterPoint that it leases to Kimberly Clark. It is the second Mericle industrial building to acheive the benchmark.
