DALLAS-After more than two years trying his luck as owner of an industrial real estate investment firm, Randy Baird has joined the local office of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler to return to brokerage. He has been named as a senior managing director in the investment sales group, and will also assume a national guidance role.

Baird was previously a managing partner at Baird Fitzgerald Partners, but he says his love of brokerage, from 13 years with CB Richard Ellis and Cushman & Wakefield, pulled him back in. “I really missed brokerage, I realized it is really my passion,” he tells GlobeSt.com. During his career, Baird has been involved in the sale of more than 350 million square feet of industrial real estate, totaling $16 billion in transaction value.

He says though market fundamentals are still down, Texas is still one of the biggest national markets with Dallas-Ft. Worth and Houston. “Seller expectations seem to be getting much more in alignment with buyers’ expectations, at least compared with the past couple of years,” Baird says. “I’ve seen capital coming back into the market. I wouldn’t call it robust yet, but it does feel like it’s heading in that direction at a pretty good pace.”
