LOS ANGELES-Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Bob Morey as an executive vice president in the real estate investment banking group in the company's Los Angeles and Jay Nugent as a senior vice president at JLL's Irvine office in Orange County as the Chicago-based company expands its capabilities in Southern California in both of those business lines. Morey comes to JLL from CB Richard Ellis and Nugent from Richards Barry Royce & Partners in Boston.
Morey, who brings more than 37 years of experience in the financial industry to his new position, will be responsible for the solicitation, origination, underwriting, structuring, placement and closing of commercial and multifamily real estate transactions including permanent, construction, equity, and structured financing. He has closed more than $10 billion of transactions during his career. Tom Melody, executive managing director and co-leader of JLL’s Real Estate Investment Banking practice, cites Morey's "long-standing relationships with life insurance companies, pension funds, opportunity funds and banks.”
Nugent will specialize in advising landlords and tenants with their real estate needs in the Orange County region. Jones Lang LaSalle senior managing director Jeff Ingham says his hiring is part of Jones Lang LaSalle's goal to "continue to expand the firm in Orange County, including landlord leasing and property management.”
From 2002 to 2007, Nugent served as an assistant vice president with Jones Lang LaSalle. He specializes in leasing office space, having executed more than five million square feet of leases during the past 10 years. His landlord leasing experience includes the oversight of more than 3.5 million square feet of institutionally owned office space.
