ORANGE COUNTY, CA-Irvine Company of Newport Beach has purchased the Archstone Gateway apartment complex for over $200 million. The apartment complex comprises 884 units and is located on State College Boulevard. The deal is largest acquisition made in county in many years.

Other big deals this year was the $128 million sale of Skyline Towers, a luxury condo project, by Essex Property Trust Inc. of Palo Alto. Essex Property paid $367,000 for each apartment unit in the deal. For the full story, go to Orange County Business Journal.
