ROYAL OAK, MI-Royal Oak-based Beaumont Hospital has filed an application with the state health department to construct a scaled-down facility for cancer treatment using proton beam. The hospital stopped the project in November 2009 due to lack of finance.
The 25,000-square-foot facility, which will be located adjacent to the imaging center on the south side of the Beaumont campus, requires $67.6 million investment. Construction on the facility will commence in December 2012 and is slated for completion in 2014. For the full story, go to Detroit Free Press.
