
NEW YORK CITY-Bethesda, MD-based Marriott International has planned to open 13 inexpensive hotels with 2,900 rooms in Manhattan within next three years. The planned projects of the company are now in different phases of development.
The SoHo Courtyard, the first of the planned development, is expected to open on Varick Street in November 16. On Wednesday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg applauded Marriott's expansion plan, which focuses on opening hotels with 95,000 rooms all over the world by 2013.
