The Urban Land Institute’s Westchester/Fairfield District Council is pleased to announce that Robert F. Weinberg, Co-Founder and President of Robert Martin Company, has been selected as the 2010 recipient of the Arthur Collins, Sr. Visionary Award for Leadership in Land Use. This award was conceived to recognize a person, team or organization whose efforts demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of responsible real estate in Westchester County, New York and/or Fairfield County, Connecticut. The award honors the legacy of New York-area developer Arthur Collins, Sr., a longtime ULI member, who is regarded as one of America’s most innovative real estate developers during the last half of the 20th Century. In 2008, more than 160 real estate professionals, plus ULI leadership, gathered to present the first award to architect Do Chung.
Mr. Weinberg and Robert Martin Company have invested in, developed, and are widely regarded as pioneers in, multifamily residential, affordable housing, suburban office park and mixed-use urban renewal projects since the firm’s founding in 1957. A long-time member of ULI himself, Mr. Weinberg has exemplified ULI’s commitment to creating and sustaining thriving communities. He has shown continued leadership in the industry and community, in ULI at the national level, in other industry organizations, and in the various civic and charitable institutions.
