TIANJIN, CHINA-Developer Guangzhou R&F Properties Co. Ltd. has hired Chicago-based Goettsch Partners to design a 92-story mixed-use tower here. The skyscraper, at 1,440 feet, will have office, condos, retail and a 400-room hotel.
The Tiangin R&F Guangdong Tower will have 1.5 million square feet, according to a statement by Goettsch, as well as 92,000 square feet of retail and 55 condominiums. Construction is supposed to begin in 2012, with completion in 2015.
The design is segmented, with each of the primary building programs separated at the ground floor, according to architect. Access from the ground floor to each of the primary building functions is then provided by a network of 55 elevators.
Goettsch has continued its run at large building design. The company announced in early October that is designing the $450 million Hilton hotel and apartment complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
