PAGO PAGO, AMERICAN SAMOA-Fletcher Construction has been awarded a construction contract worth $7 million from FEMA to rebuild 33 houses destroyed by the tsunami and earthquake that hit American Samoa last year.
The New Zealand-based company is expected to finish the second phase of the project in nearly 10 months. FEMA had spent almost $4 million for the first phase of the project and was able to complete construction on eight houses and developed site preparations for 10 other properties.
