
CHICAGO-SMG and Global Spectrum have applied to manage McCormick Place, a 2.6 million-square-foot convention center in Chicago, while Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. and International Facilities Group LLC have rejected the opportunity.
SMG and Global Spectrum were the ones who have answered the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority's invitation to run the convention center. The agency also known as McPier operates McCormick Place. Proposals of the two companies will be examined and a decision will be made by May 27, 2011. For the full story, go to Chicago Sun Times.
