EVENT OVERVIEW:
This program will provide an overview of the major Green Sustainably-Built International Standards that will help developers incorporate the ones that are most appropriate to their projects and provide guidance to practitioners who will be advising on them. The program will also include up-to-date information concerning incorporating environment-friendly designs and indigenous peoples rights in public-private development projects from a Canadian perspective, as well as from a more “from the ground-up” approach to commercial development as is taking place in Sochi, Russia, in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics. The program will also feature the first LEED Platinum project in Saudi Arabia for the King Abdullah University of Science & Technology (KAUST), which is an international, graduate-level research institution with nearly 12,000 square meters of solar thermal and photovoltaic arrays that were designed to harness the abundant and renewable power of the sun in that region.
