CHICAGO-InterContinental Hotels Group PLC has plans to open new hotels in the Chicago region in the next three years. The British hotel operator is planning to open seven new Holiday Inn Express hotels or Holiday Inns in Chicago.
InterContinental would make a dealership or management agreement with developers who own the hotels, said Jim Anhut from InterContinental's Americas division. Anhut expects that the construction of Staybridge Suites, a 216-room development at 127 W. Huron St. stalled since 2008, may start soon. For the full story, go to Crain's Chicago Business.
