SAN JOSE, CA-High unemployment as well as tight credit has made the US housing market struggle in October. According to the National Association of Realtors, sales of previously owned homes plunged 2.2% in October to an adjustable annual rate of 4.43 million units.

The median price for a house sold last month was $170,500, declined 0.9% from a year ago. Home sales had dipped in July and then in August and September it increased and in October the sales slipped back. For the full story, go to San Jose Mercury.
