ARLINGTON, VA-Interstate Hotels & Resorts has inked an agreement to manage 13 hotels recently acquired by affiliates of The Blackstone Group, bringing to 21 the number of hotels the company manages for Blackstone. The properties are located in nine states, the District of Columbia and in Canada.
All of the assets are upscale full-service properties, some of which were recently renovated and rebranded as Hilton, Starwood and Marriott flags. The portfolio includes six Westins; two Hiltons, Sheratons and Marriotts; and one Wyndham for an aggregate of 5,466 rooms.
This latest contract builds on the relationship Interstate and Blackstone have forged since 2006, said Thomas F. Hewitt, Interstate CEO, in a prepared statement. Interstate did not return a call to GlobeSt.com in time for publication.
The 13 hotels are the Sheraton Philadelphia City Center Hotel; the Westin New Orleans Canal Place; the Westin Washington DC City Center; the Westin San Diego; the Sheraton Baltimore City Center Hotel; the Buttes, a Marriott Resort in Tempe, AZ; the Wyndham Chicago Downtown; the Westin Chicago Northwest; the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Airport; the Hilton Burlington; the Westin Harbour Island; the Marriott Atlanta; and the Westin Bristol Place Airport in Toronto.
