SAN DIEGO-The long-awaited mixed-use Pacific Station has finally emerged in downtown Encinitas. The $40 million development, situated off Cost Highway 101, comprises retail, town homes and other commercial portions.

Nearly 90% of the retail space, which measures 40,000 square feet, is under contract and more than half of the 9,000-square-foot office space has been already leased. Whole Foods Market will start construction in the development in early 2011, while the Solace and Moonlight Lounge restaurant is about to be completed.
