PATERSON, NJ-St. Joseph’s Medical Center has named Fameco Real Estate LP the exclusive leasing agent for a new retail component to be built at the St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center and Children’s Hospital campus here.
The 20,000 square feet of retail space is part of a five-year, $250-million expansion. The stores, situated along Main Street, will be located contiguous to the recently completed main lobby, as well as a new parking garage currently under construction. Retail occupancy will begin in early 2012.
“Our goal is to provide patients’ families and loved ones, as well as hospital personnel with a retail environment that is not only service oriented, but will also serve as a bit of an oasis from the pressure of the hospital environment,” says Steven Winters, the Fameco director who is overseeing the leasing.
Located at 703 Main St., St. Joseph’s is a 651-bed academic tertiary medical center and state designated trauma center, staffed by nearly 900 board-certified physicians--many with multiple board certifications--approximately 180 medical residents and fellows, a nursing team and a clinical and administrative staff.
