NEW YORK CITY-The Carlton Group has hired David Barry as a managing director focusing on investment and loan sales, together with debt and equity investment, says Carlton chairman Howard Michaels. Barry has over eight years of international commercial real estate experience in the US and Europe, mainly in the structuring and procuring of equity and debt capital.
Before joining Carlton, Barry was a partner in Duke House Asset Managers, based in Dublin. There, he acquired and managed $500 million of commercial real estate across Europe on behalf of institutional investors. Bernard Hamill, managing partner at Duke, did not respond to GlobeSt.com’s request for comment by deadline.
Prior to Duke House, Barry was an investment manager at Davy, said to be Ireland’s largest wealth management firm, with a focus on international real estate. He was responsible for all aspects of deal underwriting from sourcing, structuring, placing debt and equity to asset management, according to a release.
Barry completed over 30 transactions with a capital value of over $3 billion while at Davy. Before that, Barry worked at KPMG Corporate Finance in Dublin for six years in the structured finance division focusing on international infrastructure.
