LOUDOUN, VA-Miller and Smith, a developer in McLean, VA, and Japanese firm Sekisui House are starting construction on One Loudoun, a 358-acre, master-planned community here. It will support 1,040 residential homes, 702,000 square feet of retail, three million square feet of office, a community center and an amphitheater. The community will also be home to the World Trade Center Dulles Airport.

Thus far, most of the development work on the project, which launched in 2007, has been public infrastructure, including an elementary school and 16 lane miles of new roads.

Work is now beginning on the land preparation of 200 acres designated for residences, all of the retail and office space and 750 hotel rooms.
