CHICAGO-A joint venture of Portland, Maine-based Olympia Cos. and Beachwood, Ohio-based Smart Hotels LLC has inked a franchise contract with an associate of Chicago-based Hyatt Corp. to construct and operate a Hyatt Place hotel. The joint venture is planning to build a 130-room hotel at the Harper Court shopping center owned by the University of Chicago.
