LOS ANGELES-The Foursquare Foundation has broken ground for a 75-unit affordable seniors apartment project described as a "Walker's Paradise" because of its proximity to shopping, dining, commercial services and transit links. Designed by the architectural firm KTGY Group Inc., the new development is under way on a 1.24-acre site at 1902 Park Ave. near the Echo Park district of Los Angeles. It will be smoke-free and will be designed for LEED Gold certification.

The $10 million project is called Parkview Living. The development site is cross the street from the 88-year-old Angelus Temple, which is home to the Foursquare Church.

The complex will feature 66 one-bedroom (530 square feet) and nine two-bedroom (795 square feet) single-story flats. Common area amenities will include a pool, a barbecue area, a fitness center, a hobby and craft room, a computer center, an espresso caf
