BOSTON-Senior Housing Properties Trust, a Newton, MA-based REIT, has signed a contract to purchase 20 senior-living communities situated in five states for $304 million. The deal will be closed by June 30.

According to Senior Housing Properties Trust, five of the properties are in South Carolina; seven in North Carolina; four in Florida; two in Georgia and two in Virginia. The properties include 2,111 living units containing 47 skilled nursing beds and 311 suites meant for specialized Alzheimer's care. For the full story, go to Boston Business Journal.
