CHICAGO-Bentonville, Arkansas-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is opening its first urban Wal-Mart Express shop in the Chatham Market located at Stewart Avenue and 83rd Street on the South Side. The retailer will build out an existing building measuring 10,000 square feet.
The new store will be opened this summer. The Chatham Market, which sits on a 50-acre site, is owned by Archon Group, a division of Goldman Sachs Group Inc., and occupied by a Lowe's Home Improvement store.For the full story, go to Crain's Chicago Business.
