BALTIMORE-Baltimore City is planning to buy a downtown office building for $2.6 million. Some city agencies have been occupying the building for two decades and instead of renewing its lease for offices, the city has decided to buy the building.

The city is buying the 78,700-square-foot facility at 401 E. Fayette from 401 East Fayette LLC. A Municipal Employees Credit Union branch is occupying space on the ground floor.
