BOSTON-National Development, a real estate firm based in Newton, is planning to resume the Boston Herald property development in the South End. The firm signed a contract with Pat Purcell, the owner of Herald, in 2007 to redevelop the 6.6-acre parcel off the Southeast Expressway.
Due to recession and the credit crisis, the proposed project was stalled, but now the development is getting ready to move forward. A mixed-use development comprising retail and residential was originally planned for the Herald property.For the full story, go to Boston Globe.
