CHICAGO-In winning the state’s new privatized lottery managing responsibility, Northstar Lottery Group LLC has now leased 95,000 square feet of warehouse and office. The company, a division of the large Italian firm Lottomatica recently signed leases in both the suburbs and in the Downtown.

The company has leased 50,000 square feet of warehouse space at 850 Remington Blvd. and 17,800 square feet of flex office at 586 Territorial Dr. in Bolingbrook. The firm also leased 20,706 square feet of office at 3201 Robbins Rd. in Springfield, and 6,515 square feet at 180 N. LaSalle St. in the Downtown.

Gov. Pat Quinn signed the bill to privatize the state lottery late last year, and picked Northstar as the firm to run the system. Lottomatica, based in Rome, is the world’s largest operators of lotteries.

Michael Hawryluk with Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois Inc. represented the tenant in the transactions. He tells GlobeSt.com that activity is starting to pick up. “On the landlord representation side, we’re seeing many more proposals and showings than was typical in the past two years,” he says.
